I have spent most of my life watching the merry-go-round and, briefly, have attempted to throw myself on it.
Alas, the centrifugal force threw me off as I couldn't cling to the unicorns and so I have for now decided to renew my observer season ticket and watch once more from afar.
As I was sure that, on careful reflection, most of what I posted here was either ill-informed or the rantings of a deluded mind I deleted it. So it goes, and so it went. Anyway I was never that witty and as my family sometimes remind me, I am the only one who laughs at my own jokes.
I know I will take a lot of persuading to like certain things (I am looking at you, EU) but there is a huge benefit in merely watching the wheels come off various wagons, painted or unpainted. The benefit of this policy is it isn't my fault and I did not encourage the ne'erdowells to prosper. They were able to do that all on their own.
So, carry on as best you can and be kind to small animals, children and those who are confused by ideas that taxation, repression and regulation are the stuff of life.
